Über den Jahreswechsel stellte Christophe Van Biesen in der Galerie „Am Tunnel“ der hauptstädtischen BCEE aus. Dann kam das Coronavirus, und die Menschen rafften plötzlich Klopapier und andere haltbare Lebensmittel. Mittlerweile ist der Shutdown zwar (fast) vergessen, doch von Normalität kann leider noch keine Rede sein. Daher hat sich der in Eupen geborene und seit 2008 in Luxemburg lebende Fotograf etwas Besonderes ausgedacht. Um die Geschäftsleute seiner Wahlheimat Steinfort zu unterstützen und ihren Kunden gleichzeitig mehr zu bieten, sind nun in über 20 Lokalen – vom Bäcker über die Apotheke und das Reisebüro bis hin zur Spuerkeess – Fotografien des Belgiers ausgestellt. Landschaftsaufnahmen, die entweder im Großherzogtum oder auf seinen Reisen entstanden sind und einen gemeinsamen Nenner haben: Ruhe. (…)

With the start of the bustling holiday season upon us, it can be easy to lose focus of what really matters. Delano spoke with three locals who have not only honed their crafts —embroidery, ceramics and photography— but also offer those who may not be as artistically gifted a chance to put a touch of the personal back into gift-giving. He is originally from Belgium, but has been living in Luxembourg since 2008.
