Join me, Christophe Van Biesen, for a private photo tour of Luxembourg. I’ll personally accompany you to some of my favourite viewpoints and places to photograph, sharing the country I’ve come to know through years behind the camera.

From the old quarters of Luxembourg City to the forests of Mullerthal and the shores of Upper-Sûre Lake, I’ll plan a route around your interests, the time you have available and the places you’d like to discover.

Whether you bring professional camera equipment or a smartphone, the tour is yours to enjoy at your own pace, with photography tips whenever you’d like them.

I’ve been working as a professional photographer in Luxembourg since 2008. I return to the same viewpoints, neighbourhoods and landscapes throughout the seasons, getting to know how the light changes and what makes each place worth photographing.

That experience shapes the tours I offer. We might follow the curves of the shoreline at Upper-Sûre Lake, look for a composition among the rocks and streams of Mullerthal or spend time photographing the old town. Sometimes a small change in position or a little patience makes more difference than moving on to another location.

Where would you like to photograph?

The itinerary starts with your interests, the time you have available and the season. These are a few of the places we can explore.

Luxembourg City

Historic streets, views over the old town, the Grund and the Alzette valley offer plenty of possibilities for cityscape and architecture photography. We can combine familiar viewpoints with quieter corners and details you might otherwise walk past.

Mullerthal

Sandstone formations, woodland paths, streams and waterfalls make Mullerthal a rewarding place for nature photography. We can explore wider forest scenes or take a closer look at moss, flowing water and the shapes of the rocks, depending on what catches your eye.

Upper-Sûre Lake

The lake and its wooded shores offer a different kind of landscape, with winding shorelines, open views across the water and reflections when conditions are calm. We can explore viewpoints above the lake or work closer to the water, looking at shapes, colour and the changing light.

Castles and countryside

Around places such as Vianden and Bourscheid, we can photograph castles within their surrounding landscape. Valleys, villages and wooded hills offer opportunities to explore both wider views and the quieter details of Luxembourg’s countryside.

Moselle valley

Vineyards, riverside villages and views over the Moselle add another possibility to your itinerary. We can explore the patterns of the vines, village streets or the river landscape, choosing locations according to the season and your interests.

We’ll choose a route that leaves enough time to enjoy photographing each place, taking account of travel between locations and conditions on the day.

A private tour at your pace

Each tour is reserved for you, your partner or your own small group. You’ll explore with me throughout, with time to stop for a view, take photographs and enjoy the places we visit.

Beforehand, we’ll discuss what you’d like to see, your preferred pace and how much walking you’re comfortable with. I’ll suggest locations and timing that fit your stay, whether you’d like to explore the city or spend time in one of Luxembourg’s scenic regions.

Photography advice is available whenever you want it, from finding a composition with your phone to making the most of your camera. You’re equally welcome to concentrate on discovering the places and taking photographs in your own way.

How long does a tour last, and what does it cost?

Duration and price depend on the itinerary, the number of people and the arrangements involved. Let me know your dates and how much time you’d like to spend photographing. I’ll suggest a route and provide a personalised quote before you book.

Which languages do you offer?

Private photo tours are available in English, French or German.

What should I bring?

Bring whichever you enjoy taking photographs with: a smartphone, a compact camera or professional photography equipment. A smartphone is all you need to enjoy the tour.

Make sure you have enough battery power and storage space, and wear comfortable shoes. If you’d like advice on lenses or other equipment for your chosen itinerary, I’m happy to help.

Where do we meet, and how do we get around?

We’ll agree on a meeting point and the travel arrangements before booking. Please tell me where you’re staying and whether you’ll have access to a car, particularly if you’d like to explore beyond Luxembourg City.

How do weather and light affect the itinerary?

Light and weather are part of planning a photography outing. I take the forecast and the season into account when suggesting locations and timing. We’ll discuss any adjustments needed as the date approaches.
