This class is aimed at anyone eager to learn the basics as well as more advanced techniques of Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. This course will teach you how to use Lightroom efficiently, keeping your photos organised and editing your images to their fullest potential. Adobe Lightroom Classic CC is the leading software on the market to edit your photos and I have been using it for many years.

This course also is the perfect follow-up if you have attended one of my previous outdoor photography workshops.

• How to create a catalog, configure preferences, import photos to Lightroom and keep a coherent folder structure

• How to work with different file formats including RAW, TIFF, PSD, JPEG and DNG

• How to customise the Lightroom interface

• How to navigate the Library, Develop, Map, Print, Slideshow and Web Modules

• How to work with collections, smart collections, and smart previews to perform automated filtering functions

• How to create metadata presets to apply copyright and other important information to images

• How to use keywords, ranking and labels to organise your photos

• How to edit your photos in the develop module, from basic adjustments to advanced editing techniques using the histogram, white balance, noise reduction, sharpening and other core adjustment features

• How to apply special effects using vignetting, grain effects and dehazing

• How to use specialised tools such as spot removal, graduated filters and the adjustment brush

• How to crop and transform images to straighten lines

• How to merge HDR and panoramic photos

• How to export images to Photoshop for additional editing

• How to export your photos and prepare them for social media or printing

What should you bring

Equipment

• Laptop with Adobe Lightroom Classic CC
  You should bring along a computer to follow along, take notes and edit pictures. Please pre-install Adobe Lightroom Classic CC and make sure it works before the class. You can download a free trial on Adobe's website. Please note that this class will not resolve software issues on your computer.

• Pen and paper
  You should bring a pen and a notebook or some paper to take notes in case you need to write down some of the information.

• 5-10 of your photos in RAW format
  (Optional) Bringing a couple of your own images will allow you to use the techniques you will learn and benefit from some feedback on your own images. If you don’t bring any of your own pictures, you will be provided with a some to work on during the workshop.

• Camera

  While not strictly necessary, feel free to bring your camera with you.

The workshop can take place in the morning or in the afternoon either during the week or on week-ends, depending on your and my availability.

This course can be booked online for a maximum of 3 people at a time. Please specify the correct number of people when reserving this photography class. Please note that more participants may join the workshop.
