Dreaming about white winters

Snow never lasts in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg! It is as rare as it is fleeting. Its scarcity therefore makes every single white winter’s day an opportunity to photograph a transformed landscape, which may disappear as quickly as it came and probably won’t be back for years to come…

Mesmerising woodlands

When an abundance of snow covers the landscape, Luxembourg’s countryside is changed, but it’s in the woodlands that the magic is strongest!

Frozen lakeside

Luxembourg’s Upper-Sûre lake is worth a visit all year-round, but it’s only in winter that you may get a chance to see the lakeside frozen and white shores reflecting in the water.

The Sauer snakes its way through Luxembourg’s northeastern countryside.

Minimalism

White winter landscapes allow for some very minimalistic photography. Lone trees are a favourite of mine as they present a clear subject without any distractions.
